This is a continuation of our School Year Plans; if you missed any of the previous news posts I would like to introduce to you the scroll down option. There are a variety of tools to assist you in this simple, yet useful operation. You may want to try pushing the down arrow key located on your key board, or using that rolling-mabobber in the middle of your mouse, or finally moving your mouse to the scroll bar, click-and-hold, and moving down. Wasn't that easy?
As I stated previously this is the next part of some of the ideas I have in store for this community. The next part has nothing to do with how we make our videos, but what our videos or various projects may be about. The point is to befriend some very creative Halo communities and help each other out. Most of you will know of this relationship as affiliations, but I am going to call it Ambassadors.
My goal is simple: become close friends with other Halo communities whether it is machinima, art, writing, clan stuff, or whatever other Halo communities are out there. Take Arm the Flag, one of our affiliates, for example. I hear we have a strong bond with them, but I really don't see much to show for it. I want Abyss Studios to not only be a tie between differing Halo communities, but a place where we can do a service for them. This service is, you guessed it, machinima.
Abyss Studios is always looking for a purpose in our machinima other than to entertain. We would like to help any Halo community the best we can with our machinima skills. What if the people we are helping our machinimators themselves? Well perhaps they need simultaneous videos done or help with varying stages of their projects. We'd be glad to pitch in. I also want to point out that we aren't limited to machinima. I have seen a lot of talent coming from this community that includes art, CG, writing, and web design. We're a whole bunch of talented artists in our own right and I feel we need to help each other out.
Not only do we have a lot of talent in our own community, but we have a lot of talent in other communities as well. I want to see this place become some sort of trading post between clans. I want to see members of various clans talking to each other through us. Why have accounts for every Halo community if all you want to do is get something from them? I can imagine how painful it must have to remember all those accounts. It can get confusing. I feel like Abyss Studios can be here to make it you practically only need two accounts. There can be one account for your clan and one account for our site. Hang with your clan like you normally do and then come to Abyss Studios to talk to other clans (in mass if you must) without having to sign into every site for such a little request or whatever.
What I need from you is you. If you are a member, friend of a member, or strongly feel we need to be a part of a certain clan or Halo community I need you to take on the responsibility of giving us the hook up. If you wish to become an Ambassador you not only represent Abyss Studios, but that Halo community as well. You will be the tie between us and them until that community is all on board with using Abyss Studios as a trading ground. Ambassadors have the responsibility of talking to administrators and leaders about the switch and talking to their members to get their input. If you would like to become an Ambassador please let me know in this brand new forum topic! Just read the directions and we should be fine.
With that I invite all of you to Abyss Studios!
